AROUND THE STATE
Week 4 gave us blowouts, big plays, ridiculous point totals, and at least a few scoreboard operators who probably woke up Saturday morning with sore fingers. Apparently Washington high school football decided defense was optional this week.
Here’s what caught our attention:
Puyallup hung 72 on Curtis. After an exciting week 3 win over Lake Stevens, Puyallup decided they prefer a running clock.
Graham-Kapowsin put up 76 against Spanaway Lake. After seeing the Vikings score 72 Graham-Kapowsin took that personally, and said hold my (root) beer.
Mount Si dropped 69 on Hazen.
Bellevue scored 49 against Eastlake.
FROM THE SIDELINE
Draft-Pics was on the sideline as Sumner erased a 14–10 halftime deficit, shutting out Emerald Ridge in the second half on the way to a 24–14 win. One of the highlights came from #58 Tyson Kukahiko, who scooped up a fumble and took off downfield. Nothing gets a sideline fired up quite like seeing a big man with the football and open grass ahead of him.
